About our IT support

What IT services does expert IT provide?

We look after everything that keeps your business running: computers, laptops, printers, hardware and software, Microsoft 365, servers, networks, Wi-Fi and VPN. We also provide managed backup and data recovery, so your files are protected and can be restored quickly when something goes wrong.

How much does IT support cost?

Computer and IT support starts from $35 per month, and backup and recovery starts from $30 per month. The final price depends on the number of users, devices and servers you have. Tell us about your setup and we will send you a clear, free quote with no hidden costs.

Is your IT support really available 24/7?

Yes. Our IT support service runs 24/7, so urgent problems such as a server going down, email not working or a security issue are handled as soon as they are reported. Sales and administrative questions are answered during commercial hours.

Do you provide remote or on-site support?

Both. Most issues are solved remotely within minutes, which is the fastest and most affordable option for you. When a problem needs hands-on work, such as hardware installation or network cabling, we arrange an on-site visit. On-site visits are quoted separately unless they are included in your plan.

Is remote support safe?

Yes. We only connect with your permission, using a secure remote-support tool and a session code or Protech ID that you share for that single request. You can watch everything we do on screen and close the session at any time. We will never ask for your passwords by email or through a form.

Do you support Microsoft 365?

Yes. Microsoft 365 is part of our Computer and IT Support service: setting up users and mailboxes, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive and SharePoint, licence management, security settings and migrations. Microsoft licences are billed separately, per user and period.

Can you manage our servers and network?

Yes. We set up, monitor and maintain servers, routers, firewalls, Wi-Fi and VPN connections. Changes are planned and approved with you in advance, so your team is never surprised by unexpected downtime.

How does your backup and recovery service work?

We set up encrypted backups of your computers and servers on a schedule we agree with you, then check that they complete successfully and can actually be restored. If a device fails, is stolen or is hit by ransomware, we restore your data quickly so your business can keep working.

Are hardware, spare parts and licences included in the price?

No. The monthly fee covers our support work. New hardware, replacement parts, software licences and data recovery from physically damaged disks are quoted separately, so you always approve the cost before we buy anything.

Do I have to sign a long-term contract?

No long-term lock-in is required. Monthly services are billed in advance and renew automatically until you cancel with 30 days’ written notice. Any minimum term is stated clearly in your proposal before you sign.

Do you work with small businesses?

Absolutely. We support single offices with a few computers as well as growing companies with several locations. Small businesses benefit the most, because they get a full IT team for a predictable monthly price instead of hiring in-house staff.

How do I get started?

Send us a quote request through the contact page. We will ask a few questions about your users, devices and current problems, then propose the right plan. Once you approve it, we review your systems and fix the most urgent issues first.

General questions about IT and computers

Why is my computer slow, and what can I do about it?

The most common causes are too many programs starting with Windows, an almost full disk, missing updates, malware or an old hard drive. Removing unused startup apps, freeing up space and installing updates often helps right away. Upgrading from a hard drive (HDD) to an SSD and adding more memory (RAM) can make an older computer feel new again.

How often should business computers be replaced?

Most business laptops and desktops work well for about four to five years. After that, repairs become more frequent, performance drops and the device may stop receiving security updates. Replacing computers on a planned schedule costs less than losing working hours to an old machine.

What is the 3-2-1 backup rule?

Keep 3 copies of your important data, on 2 different types of storage, with 1 copy stored off-site or in the cloud. This simple rule protects you from almost every risk: a failed disk, a stolen laptop, a fire in the office or a ransomware attack.

Are OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox the same as a backup?

Not exactly. These services sync your files, so if a file is deleted, overwritten or encrypted by ransomware, the damaged version can sync everywhere too. They are excellent for sharing and working remotely, but a separate backup with version history is still needed to recover your data safely.

How can I protect my business from viruses and ransomware?

Use a layered approach: keep Windows and all software updated, use reliable antivirus or endpoint protection, turn on multi-factor authentication, give staff only the access they need and keep tested backups. Most attacks start with a single click on a fake email, so training your team is just as important as the technology.

What is multi-factor authentication (MFA), and do I need it?

MFA asks for a second proof of identity, such as a code from a phone app, in addition to your password. Even if a password is stolen, the attacker still cannot sign in. It is one of the cheapest and most effective security steps, and we recommend enabling it on email, Microsoft 365 and every important account.

How can I recognise a phishing email?

Be careful with emails that create urgency, ask you to log in, pay an invoice or change bank details, or come from an address that looks slightly wrong. Hover over links before clicking, never open unexpected attachments and confirm unusual requests by phone. When in doubt, ask your IT team before you click.

Why are software updates so important?

Updates fix security holes that attackers actively look for, as well as bugs that cause crashes and slowdowns. Delaying updates leaves the door open. The safest approach is to install updates automatically or on a regular managed schedule, including updates for routers and other network devices.

Does my business need its own server, or is the cloud enough?

Many small businesses can run entirely in the cloud with Microsoft 365, cloud storage and online apps, which means no hardware to maintain. A local server still makes sense for specific software, large files, strict data rules or slow internet connections. Often the best answer is a mix of both.

How can I improve the Wi-Fi in my office?

Place the router or access points centrally and high, away from thick walls and metal. For larger spaces, use several business-grade access points or a mesh system instead of one router. Create a separate guest network for visitors, and connect fixed devices such as desktops and printers with a cable where possible.

What is a VPN, and does my business need one?

A VPN creates an encrypted connection between a device and your company network over the internet. It lets employees safely reach office files and systems from home or while travelling, and protects data on public Wi-Fi. If your team works remotely and uses resources inside the office, a VPN is usually a good idea.
